What is Solar Thermal System ?
Solar Thermal System are mainly used for heating applications. The system replaces consumable heating sources such as fossil fuel and electric heaters with renewable energy from solar irradiance. Heat energy will be transferred into medium like water or thermalfluid, then use it directly or indirectly according to the system design. The solar thermal system consists of various types of solar collectors. Each type of collector is suitable for different range of applications such as steam generation, hot water shower, pre-heating boiler, swimming pool heating, etc.

Process of Installing Solar Thermal System
General installation of the Solar Thermal System consists of two major components, solar thermal collector and thermal storage tank. Heat generated from solar collectors will be kept inside the thermal storage tank. Heat energy consumption rate per hour or per day will determine the appropriate size of the thermal storage tank and the amount of solar collector required for the system. Medium inside the storage tank such as water, as it reaches the designed temperature, can be used directly into the shower mixer valve to provide a hot water shower. For industrial application, the stored hot water can be used to feed into the steam boiler to help reduce fuel consumption and increase steam generation.
